Deals this week 1/27/13-2/2/13

Here are some of the great deals you can get this week.

Cash Wise:
They actually have some good deals this week that you can't price match at Walmart. So, as long as I'm there I'm going to take advantage of the other deals instead of price matching.
  • 80% lean ground beef 3lb package $7.14 ($2.38/lb, a really good price now days)
  • Buy 3 cans RoTel tomatoes at 3/2.88 get $1 off Velveeta cheese
    • use .40/2 Rotel coupon from 1/20 SS and .55/1 Velveeta coupon from 1/20 SS for a better deal
  • Kraft shredded or block cheese 5-8 oz $1.68
    • use .55/2 coupon from 1/20 SS (use 2 if you buy 4 cheese)
    • Cash Wise has an in store coupon for $2 off 4 cheese.  This brings the total price to $.91 each WTB 4!  Great deal!
  • Free ketchup WYB $30 of more
Target
  • Buy 10 Mexican or Italian ingredients get a $5 gift card
    • print .60/2 Ragu Target coupons (Target coupons state that you can only use 1 like target coupon per transaction, but as of now, Target in Hutchinson still takes 2 per transaction.  I talked to the customer service manager and she confirms this, so it's not me being sneaky.  However, their policy could change at any time.)
    • use 2 $1/3 Barilla pasta coupons
    • Final price: Ragu 1.29 x4=5.16 Barilla .86 x6= 5.16 Total=  10.32 Then you get a $5 gift card back so you really spent 5.32 or $0.53 each.

    • Total $3 each and free pop

  • HUGE baby sale this week

  • Bounce dryer sheets 34 count $1.98
    • $1/1 Target coupon from the paper
    • $0.50/1 mfg coupon

3 inserts this weekend 1/27/13

According to Sunday Coupon Preview, there should be 3 inserts in the paper this weekend.  2 Red Plum and 1 Smart Source.  I am definitely going to be buying multiple papers.

Here's a preview:
Red Plum 1
$1/1 Axe deodorant or body spray
B2G1 free (buy 2 get 1 free) Axe shower gels or detailer
$1/1 Dove products
Misc Suave coupons (They're so cheap already so it makes it an even better deal)
B1G1 free TRESemme shampoo or conditioner

Red Plum 2
$3/1 Abreva
$1/1 Breathe Right (one I really use!)
$1.10/2 Coffee-mate liquid or powder creamers
Lots of L'Oreal coupons

Smart Source
$1/2 General Mills
$1/1 MiO
Schick razor coupons

The Axe coupons are great.  Target has Axe coupons at time that makes Axe very inexpensive compared to what it usually is.

The Abreva coupon is an amazing coupon to have. Great product that is expensive and one that you can sometimes find a Target coupon to use as well.

My apologies...

I need to apologize. I've had a horribly busy week with work and a sick kid, so I haven't kept up like I should. I'll try to keep up better in the future, but no promises.  Kinda funny how kids and work seem to take up a lot of time!

Coupons and deals from 1/13/13 paper

***Keep an eye on Target for sales.  Last year around this time, I got an amazing deal on Scrubbing Bubbles and toilet paper. Huggies deal at Target

Huggies are on sale at Target for $37.99 for the huge boxes (154 diapers in the size 4 boxes). They are also buy 2 get a $10 Target gift card back.

Use 2 $3.50 off coupons from Target.com and 2 $3 off coupons you can print after watching a short video here. The link to print the coupons after the video pops up in a different window so you can just select the option "print coupon now" twice in the first window. I'd print the coupons soon as they usually have a limit on the total number they allowed printed before they close down the link.
Here's the math:
$37.99
-$3.50 target coupon
-$3.00 mfg coupon
= $31.49
x 2
= 62.98
Use your Target debit card or credit card for an extra 5% off
= $59.83
-$10 Target gift card back
= $49.83 (price before coupons and gift card would have been $75.98!!!)
= $0.16/diaper. Great price for Huggies!

Stand your ground!

I had some difficulty last night at Walmart.  Apparently one of the staff (who likes to argue anyway) didn't know about the price match policy for off brand items.  The person who checked me out didn't give me any problems, but I was charged for too many gallons of milk and didn't realize it until after I went out to the car.  When I went back in I was directed to my "favorite" night shift person.  She grumbled about having to return something.  She grumbled about reading the receipt.  She grumbled about everything possible.  Then she asked me what ad I matched from.  I told her Freedom gas station.  She said, we can't price match off brand.  I said, your policy has changed and now you can. I stated "I talked to Autumn this morning to confirm the change" (I keep track of who I talk to so you have a name to reference).  She responded, "Yeah, well Autumn isn't in charge of the store." (See what I mean about her being my "favorite") She then said, "you're lucky you didn't go to me to check out, I wouldn't have let you price match that". She gave me my money back for the extra gallon of milk and told me to have a good night.

Moral of the story:
1. Don't go to Walmart after 11pm.  I know this already, but I do it anyway.  Argh!
2. Be ready to stand your ground.  I have a copy of every store's coupon policy and price match policy in my binder so I can show any cashier that wants to argue (most won't).  If you do have someone arguing with you who won't budge, don't be afraid to call a manager or talk to the manager after you check out.

But, most importantly, don't go to Walmart after 11 pm.

Menards

Menards is a great place to get good deals if you don't mind sending in a ton of rebate forms. You can get many things for free after rebate.  Make sure you find out if the rebate is in the form of a check made out to you or a store credit.  I've seen it go either way.  Here are some of the things you could get for really cheap (less than $5) or free after rebate this week (thanks to Pocket Your Dollars for the info)

Moisturizing nose wipes
Bamboo cutting board
Draft stopper (for stopping drafts coming in outside doors)
Bloody Mary mix
12"x36" wooden shelf
5 1/8" x 8' prefinished plank
Yoga mat
Surge protector
12 piece nut driver set
Letter tray wall mount
Chicago Cutlery knife
3 color garage parking sensor (really cool stop light looking thing that tells you how close you are to the correct parking spot in your garage)

Spend a little extra money up front and then get it back in the form of rebates.  Not too bad. Usually you can get quite a few things for free at Menards.  Kinda a good place to check out.

Sunday 1/6/2013

There were 5 inserts in today's paper. 3 Smart Source and 2 Red Plum.  Sundaycouponpreview.com stated there was supposed to be a Target coupon insert as well, but it was not in the Star Tribune.  Some decent coupons, but nothing completely amazing.  The best I saw was $10 off Nicotine products. Although Cub did have a great ad that I'll be using to price match at Walmart.  Anyone find anything else?

My world has just been rocked!

I just found out that Walmart now price matches off brand prices from other stores. That means that if Cash Wise has Food Club milk on sale, Walmart will give you that price on their Great Value brand. I love that Walmart is doing everything possible to make them the go-to place.

So much of my money saving comes from price matching, so this is huge for my pocketbook!  Love it!
